The Waiting

If I could encourage you with one thing today on The Couch it would a be a line from the song "Take Courage" by Kristine DiMarco:

"He is in the waiting."

Whatever season of life your in right now, God is right in the middle of it. If I'm honest, in my own personal life it's hard to see him, hear him and feel him when I allow seasons of waiting weigh me down. Anyone else with me? However, our season does not determine His goodness and good thoughts towards us. He is actually right in the middle of our season.

"For you always have God's presence.

For hasn't he promised you,

I will never leave you alone, never!

And I will not loosen my grip on your life." -Hebrews 13:5

So why is it that we feel overwhelmed? Stressed? I think it's because our focus isn't on what he is doing right now. We are so focused on other things, or the lack of things, we don't see what he is trying to do in us and around us right now. We need to shift our focus.

Today I want to encourage you to stop, take a deep breath and ask God what he is doing in you, and around you. Wait for him to speak to you, show you a picture or bring a song to mind. Then dwell on what he has showed you and make it a practice to "be on the look out" for what he is doing in your life. It's then that all the stress can melt away and true joy can take it's place.

"Gaze upon him, join your life with his and joy will come.

Your faces will glisten with glory.

You'll never wear that shame-face again." -Psalms 34:5
