Hello, my name is Janell. Welcome to The Couch!

“The Couch” idea came to me one afternoon as I read Psalm 25:14 in The Passion Translation, it reads:

​

“There’s a private place reserved for the lovers of God, where they sit near him and receive the revelation-secrets of his promises.”

​

But it was the footnote that really grabbed me:

​

“The Hebrew word for secret is actually the word for couch. This is the place where intimate friends would sit together to talk, to share secrets.”

God’s desire is to be close, to share intimate conversations, to just chill on the couch with us. What’s wonderful is that we don’t have to strive in order to get a seat with him. 

​

When my friends and I go out for coffee we always look to see if the very few and coveted couches are available. But with God you don’t have to worry, you have a place specifically reserved for you. No striving, just rest.

​

My goal is to create a space that inspires you to have Couch times with God, through videos, music, art, photography, written words and so much more! 

​

So go find a couch, a quiet place and let’s spend time with the one who has reserved you a seat.
